Lawrence Krisna Parker, better known by his stage names KRS-One, and Teacha, is an American rapper from The Bronx, New York City, New York. At the 2008 BET Awards, KRS-One was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for all his work and effort towards the Stop the Violence Movement as well as the overall pioneering of hip hop music and culture. KRS-One is also a vocal supporter of vegetarianism. In an interview with who-mag.net, KRS-One said he will sue radio stations that play his music. He reasoned "They don't deserve it. They destroy careers." and "I existed before them, why would I join them?"
