Donald Zackary "Zack" Greinke is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball. He has also pitched for the Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Greinke has battled social anxiety disorder throughout his career, almost quitting baseball at one point. He was drafted by the Royals in 2002 after being named the Gatorade National Player of the Year his senior year of high school. After playing in the minor leagues, he made his MLB debut in 2004. In 2009 he appeared in the MLB All-Star Game, led the major leagues in earned run average, and won the American League Cy Young Award, while establishing himself as one of the top pitchers in the game. His 2013 contract with the Dodgers was the largest ever signed by a right-handed pitcher at the time.
