15th Annual Black Reel Awards Winners are Announced

15th Black Reel AwardsThe 2015 Black Reel Awards, recognize and celebrate the achievements of black people in feature, independent and television films, The winners were announced on Thursday, 19th February , 2015 at Washington, DC.

Selma, won an astonishing eight awards including Outstanding Motion Picture, Outstanding Director , Outstanding Actor (David Oyelowo), Outstanding Supporting Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actress, Outstanding Score, Outstanding Original Song, and Outstanding Ensemble.

On the small screen, A Trip to Bountiful was awarded Outstanding TV Movie or Mini-Series and Mr. Dynamite: The Rise of James Brown won Outstanding Television Documentary or Special. Tied with four wins apiece, Cicely Tyson and Anika Noni Rose are now the most awarded women in Black Reel Awards history.
