2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine awarded to 3 scientists for Parasite-Fighting Therapies

The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute has awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, with one half jointly to William C. Campbell and Satoshi Omura for their discoveries concerning a novel therapy against infections caused by roundworm parasites and the other half to Youyou Tu for her discoveries concerning a novel therapy against malaria.

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards announced the winners on 20th September, 2015 at the in Los Angeles, California. Game of Thrones set a new record by winning 12 awards and Viola Davis being the first African-American woman to win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

The 10th European Inventor Award winners are announced on 11th June. The ceremony took place at the Palais Brongniart (La Bourse) in Paris, France. Winners are Andreas Manz (Switzerland), Franz Amtmann (Austria) / Philippe Maugars (France), Laura van ‘t Veer (Netherlands), Ludwik Leibler (France), Sumio Iijima / Akira Koshio / Masako Yudasaka (Japan), Ian Frazer(Australia), Jian Zhou (China).
