BET released the official nominees for its 2016 Hip-Hop Awards, and not surprisingly Drake leads the pack for the third year in a row, racking up 14 nominations in the wake of his new album VIEWS.
Rapper-singer-producer Future, who released a collaborative album with Drake last year, is the second-most nominated act with 10. DJ Khaled and Kanye West follow with nine and eight nominations, respectively. Other nominees in the 18 categories include Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Remy Ma and Desiigner.
The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards will be taped on September 17 at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The show airs on BET on Tuesday, October 4 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
