Julianne Moore won the Oscar Award for best actress in a leading role. She won the award for the movie “Still Alice”.
In Hollywood, Los Angeles, at the Dolby Theatre on 22th February 2015, the 87th Academy Awards ceremony was took place. The ceremony was hosted by Actor Neil Patrick Harris. The ceremony, televised in the United States by ABC, was produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan and directed by Hamish Hamilton.
One of the biggest winners of the night is veteran actress Julianne Moore for her outstanding portrayal of an Alzheimer’s sufferer.
Julianne Moore also paid tribute to all women who are nominated in the Best Actress category and told everyone that “there’s no such thing as Best Actress” during her speech. She also thanked her director, Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland.
Julianne Moore spent four months researching her role of alzheimer’s sufferer in “Still Alice.” She also even visited a long-term care facility to talk to women with the disease as the actress plays a linguistics professor who is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s.
