Steve Bornstein is currently the President and CEO of the NFL Network and is also the National Football League's Executive-Vice President of Media. Prior to joining the NFL, Bornstein was the Chairman of ESPN, and also served as president of ABC. While at ESPN, he organized putting SportsCenter reruns on during the morning hours. Bornstein began his career as a producer, and later executive producer, at WOSU-TV in Columbus, Ohio. He also worked with Warner-Amex Cable, producing Ohio State Buckeyes football programming for the company's interactive QUBE system. In January 1980, he joined ESPN as manager of programming when the cable sports network was a four-month-old start-up. He advanced through the network’s programming and production ranks, becoming ESPN’s youngest president and CEO in 1990 at age 38. Three years later, he was given the additional title of corporate vice president of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. He was born and raised in Fair Lawn, New Jersey to Julian Leon and Marge Frankel Bornstein, as the youngest of four. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science in communications.
