Ron Loewinsohn is an American poet and novelist. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1945, and lived briefly in Los Angeles and the Bronx before settling in San Francisco in the 1950s. He attended the University of California Berkeley and received a PhD from Harvard. Trout Fishing in America is dedicated to Loewinsohn and poet Jack Spicer.
