Frank Joseph Perry, Jr. was an American stage and film director, producer, and screenwriter. His 1962 film David and Lisa was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director. The film was written by Perry's first wife, Eleanor Perry. They would go on to collaborate on five further films, before their divorce in 1971. His later films include the Joan Crawford bio drama Mommie Dearest and the documentary On The Bridge, about his struggle with prostate cancer.
