Stephen Lang is a Tony Award-nominated American actor and playwright. He started in theater on Broadway but is well known for his film portrayals of Stonewall Jackson in Gods and Generals and George Pickett in Gettysburg, as well as for his 2009 roles as Colonel Miles Quaritch in Avatar and as Texan lawman Charles Winstead in Public Enemies. He also played Commander Nathaniel Taylor in the short lived 2011 television series Terra Nova. Lang was the co-artistic director of the famed Actors Studio, at its headquarters in New York City.
