Naomi Novik is an American writer. She is best known for her Temeraire fantasy/alternate history series of novels, of which there are currently eight published books. Her first book, His Majesty's Dragon, won the 2007 Compton Crook Award for best novel in the science fiction and fantasy category. She was also nominated for a Hugo Award for best novel in 2007.
