Ófeigur Sigurðsson is an Icelandic poet and novelist. He was born in Reykjavik, and studied philosophy at the University of Iceland. He graduated in 2007, writing a thesis on the work of Georges Bataille. Ófeigur has published six books of poetry and two novels. His novel Jon, based on the life of Jon Steingrimsson, won the EU Prize for Literature. He has also translated the writings of Louis-Ferdinand Céline and Michel Houellebecq into Icelandic. Apart from writing, Ófeigur has worked in a number of different professions.
