Maria da Graça Xuxa Meneghel commonly known as Xuxa, is a Brazilian television presenter, film actress, singer and businesswoman. Her various shows have been broadcast in Portuguese, English, and Spanish worldwide. Twice winner of the Latin Grammy of Best Children's Album, is also known for her epithet of Queen of the Shorties.
Starting in 1991, debuted a version of the program Xou da Xuxa in spanish - El Show de Xuxa, that got to be broadcast to 17 countries in Latin America by Argentine television Telefé. In the United States the program was aired on Univision.
In 1991, Xuxa was the first Latin American to appear in Forbes' list of the 40 Highest-Paid Entertainers..
In 1992, launched the Xuxa Park, presented by the Spanish network Telecinco. An eponymous program, Xuxa Park, would be launched by Rede Globo in 1994.
In 1993, with a contract signed with the MTM Enterprises, Xuxa went to the U.S. The American version of her program, Xuxa, was an English-language program and was launched in that country in September of that year. The program was broadcast daily from about 100 stations.
