Philip H. Lathrop, A.S.C. was an American cinematographer for such films as Lonely Are the Brave, The Americanization of Emily, The Cincinnati Kid, Point Blank, Finian's Rainbow, The Traveling Executioner, Portnoy's Complaint, Earthquake, Swashbuckler, The Driver, A Change of Seasons, Foolin' Around, Loving Couples, and Deadly Friend. He was also cinematographer for several Blake Edwards films, including The Pink Panther, where he can be seen in a brief cameo as a police officer chasing a woman in an elevator, and Gunn and for Edwards' TV series Peter Gunn for 61 episodes and Mr. Lucky for 34 episodes. He died in Los Angeles after a brief illness.
Lathrop was inducted into the American Society of Cinematographers in 1974.
