Pieter M. Judson is a former Professor of History at Swarthmore College. As of January 2014 he is Professor of 19th and 20th Century History at the European University Institute in Florence. He researches and teaches courses in modern European History, looking at nationalist conflict, revolutionary and counter revolutionary social movements, and the history of sexuality. He is a 2010 recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship.
In Spring 2011, Pieter Judson is the recipient of Nina Maria Gorrissen Berlin Prize in History at the American Academy in Berlin.
He is the author of the following books:
