Gordon Kane has been the Victor Weisskopf Collegiate Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan and the Director of the Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics, a leading center dedicated to the advancement of theoretical physics. He is now Victor Weisskopf Distinguished University Professor at the University of Michigan and MCTP Director Emeritus, and received the 2012 Julius Edgar Lilienfeld Prize of the American Physical Society.
Professor Kane is an internationally recognized scientific leader in theoretical and phenomenological particle physics, and theories for physics beyond the Standard Model and in recent years has been a leader in string phenomenology. Kane has been with the University of Michigan since.
