Eric Lalicata was born in Saugus, Massachusetts and grew up in the small New Hampshire town of Nottingham. He attended and graduated from Dover High School in 1989 and went on to attend Hofstra University, in Hempstead, New York, from which he graduated with a B.A. degree in Communication Arts in 1993.
Eric lived in Boston, Massachusetts from 1994 until 2000. During this time he worked as a live sound engineer, touring around the world.
In July, 2000, Eric moved to Burbank, California to pursue a career in the motion picture industry. He began working as a sound editor and re-recording mixer in 2001.
On September 28, 2002 Eric was married to Traci Crouch.
On September 13, 2003, he was awarded an Emmy Award for his sound design work on the Discovery Channel's presentation of "James Cameron's Expedition: Bismarck".
