John Maxwell Hamilton

John Maxwell Hamilton is a journalist, civil servant, and educator. He currently is the executive vice-chancellor and provost of Louisiana State University. He previously was dean of the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication. Hamilton graduated from Marquette and Boston Universities with a BA and MA in Journalism. He continued his education at George Washington University, graduating with a doctorate in American civilization. Hamilton worked as a reporter, commentator, and was broadcast nationally. He worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Christian Science Monitor, ABC Radio, and Market Place. The Nation and Washington Journalism Review featured Hamilton in their publications which discussed foreign news and Third World Relations. Hamilton also wrote for the American Journalism Review.
