Kate Walbert is an American writer. She lives in New York with her family. Walbert received her MA in English from New York University. She teaches creative writing at Yale University. Her debut was a collection of stories Where She Went. Her latest novel is A Short History of Women and was received by the New York Times' critic with words: "Nearly everything about Kate Walbert’s new novel is wickedly smart, starting with the title." The Gardens of Kyoto is based on her award winning story with the same name.
