Paul Gyorgy was a Hungarian-born American nutritionist and pediatrician, a recipient of the National Medal of Science, best known for his discovery of three vitamins: riboflavin, vitamin B6, and biotin. The citation that President Gerald Ford gave Gyorgy with the National Medal of Science read: "For his discovery of three vitamins and related research that have greatly improved human nutrition". Gyorgy was Professor of Pediatrics, University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He was also Chief of Pediatrics at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and Chief of Pediatrics at Philadelphia General Hospital.
