Tom Andrews was an American poet and critic. Life
He grew up in West Virginia. He got into the Guinness Book of Records at the age of eleven by clapping for fourteen hours and thirty one minutes. He also got into the National Enquirer for doing this. He had dreams of being a stand up comedian. He raced motocross as a teenager, but he stopped when he found out he had hemophilia. He had a major accident on an icy sidewalk that put him in the hospital for many weeks. He was bleeding from inside his joints which meant he had to have factor VIII blood transfusions.
He worked as a copy editor for Mathematical Review which is a bibliographic journal for mathematics, physicist,statisticians, logician, historian and philosophers of mathematics. Not only did he write poetry, he also wrote essays as well as memoirs. Schooling He graduated from Hope College and the University of Virginia with an M.F.A. Death
He died while he was on a Trip to England due to complications of his hemophilia. He was forty years old. Praise for Tom Andrews:
