Eric Chasalow is an American composer of acoustic and electronic music. He is Professor of Composition at Brandeis University, and Director of BEAMS, the Brandeis Electro-Acoustic Music Studio. He holds the D.M.A. from Columbia University where his principal teacher was Mario Davidovsky and where he studied flute with Harvey Sollberger. He holds awards from, among others, the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Fromm Foundation at Harvard University, New York Foundation for the Arts, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters, with particular recognition for his works that combine live soloist with electronic sounds. His music is published by G. Schirmer, McGinnis & Marx and Edition Bim and appears on CDs from New World Records, ICMC.
