Cecil James Gilbert is a Scottish-born British television producer and director. He was the BBC's Head of Comedy from 1973-77, later becoming the Head of Light Entertainment from 1977-82. He was probably best known for his work on The Frost Report, The Two Ronnies, Last of the Summer Wine, Open All Hours and Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?. In 2003, Gilbert appeared on the documentary special 30 Years of Last of the Summer Wine to discuss his role in helping to create the series.
