Thorkild Hansen was a Danish novelist known for his Slave Trilogy. He also did works concerning Knut Hamsun and travel writing. In 1971 he won the Nordic Council's Literature Prize. He is known as one of the best and most read novelists in Danish literature and had it not been for his premature death he surely would have received many more accolades than bestowed upon him during his lifetime.
