Snugpak is the tradename of manufacturer Snugpak Ltd. Products include quality sleeping bags, rucksacks, tents, and warm outdoor clothing. The family-owned company is situated in the West Yorkshire village of Silsden, England. A number of their products are used by the British military.
Some of their products can be divided into the ranges:
Military Range includes products designed for military, usually Olive Drab/Black/Coyote Brown colours. Is the most comprehensive range, including clothing and backpacks.
Outdoor Rangeincludes sleeping bags, tents and accessories for family camping. Insulated jackets for extreme weathers and outdoor activities.
Bushcraft Range is a collection of military/outdoor hammocks, bivvi bags and tents.
Snugpak sleeping bags are probably most notable for their down like insulation and small pack size. Snugpak bags are typically insulated with Softie Premier, an exclusive Swiss made insulation purported to mimic the structure of down and lined with Paratex, a breathable, highly water resistant fabric designed for softness. In reviews on Backpackgeartest.org, Snugpak bags tended to be well rated, having weights similar to or more than other high end synthetics of equivalent insulative value, but significantly smaller size.[1] Their flagship product is the Snugpak Softie 3 Merlin, their lightest bag, with a trail weight of 900 grams, compressed size of 16x16 centimeters, and minimum comfort rating of 5C.
