Taylor Bloxham is one of the largest independent lithographic printers in the UK. When Hubert Taylor and Harold Bloxham first formed Taylor Bloxham in Leicester in 1938, the first year's turnover was a mere £2,631 8s 2d. The current Chairman, Bruce Sharpless, who has been around since those early years as an errand boy, has been instrumental in expanding the business into what it is today. The culture of Taylor Bloxham has been influenced by various initiatives, which have been introduced over the years to encourage the management of change and the philosophy of continuous improvement. The company now employs over 200 people, and has an annual turnover in excess of £19m. Taylor Bloxham is part of the Print People Group which includes C & R Printing Services - an independently successful print company for over 30 years, FastAnt specialising in facilities management, direct marketing and print management and Creative Link Solutions, an established design partner to the group offering not only print design, but digital photography, web design and creative brand development. In April 2007 Taylor Bloxham were recognised by the Queen for Enterprise Achievements in the Innovation category. The award was won for the development of a new highly accurate colour reproduction technique. The method utilises the lithographic printing process and has already had a significant impact on many of Taylor Bloxham’s clients. In order to bring this product to the market, Taylor Bloxham have in the last four years spent over £9 million on new equipment and more than £1 million on research and development, allowing them to develop a range of techniques that no one in the industry can offer to the same standard.
