Julián Hernández is a Mexican filmmaker who was born Julián Hernández Pérez in Mexico City in 1972. He got the attention of national and international film critics with his first movie, A Thousand Clouds of Peace. His short film, Bramadero, was shown in the sixth Edition of Morelia International Film Festival. He received funding from the Hubert Bals Fund for development of his second feature film. He studied at Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos and has credited his use of cinematographic language to influences from filmmakers such as Michelangelo Antonioni, Leonardo Favio, Robert Bresson, and Alain Resnais had on him. Hernández has also developed Cooperativa Cinematográfica Morelos, which has supported 25 films in 20 years.
