Elio Germano is an Italian actor.
Born in Rome, he debuted, aged twelve, in the Castellano e Pipolo's movie Ci hai rotto papà . Seven years later, he abandoned an opportunity to work in theatre to play in Carlo Vanzina's Il cielo in una stanza, which launched Germano as one of the most popular Italian actors.
He subsequently worked with numerous directors such as Ettore Scola, Emanuele Crialese, Gianluca Maria Tavarelli, Giovanni Veronesi, Michele Placido, Gabriele Salvatores, Paolo Virzì, Paolo Franchi, Francesco Patierno, Daniele Vicari and Ferzan Özpetek.
For his role in the movie Mio fratello è figlio unico, by Daniele Luchetti, he won the David di Donatello as best actor in a leading role. In 2010, he won the Best Actor Award, ex-aequo with Javier Bardem, at the Cannes Film Festival, for his interpretation in La Nostra Vita. It has been announced that he will play the son of Italian journalist Tiziano Terzani, Folco Terzani in an upcoming biopic.[4]
