Cooking Channel is a television specialty channel that airs recurring programs about food and cooking, owned by Scripps Networks Interactive. It is a spinoff of Food Network, also owned by SNI, but focuses more on instructional shows rather than "reality style" and contest programming that Food Network is now geared towards.
Cooking Channel replaced Fine Living Network on May 31, 2010. The original plan was to implement the change in the fall of 2010, but it was later announced that the switch was being moved up to coincide with Memorial Day in the USA. Cooking Channel launched a high-definition feed on June 30, 2010. The channel also has an on demand version.
As of August 2013, approximately 60,718,000 American households receive the Cooking Channel.
