Catherine Chalmers, born in San Mateo, California in 1957, is an American artist.
She graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Engineering, and from the Royal College of Art, with an M.F.A. in Painting.
She has exhibited at P.S.1, New York; MASS MoCA, North Adams; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; Kunsthalle Basel; Kunthalle Vienna; and MoCA Taipei, University Art Museum, CSU Long Beach, Boise Art Museum.
Her work has appeared in the New York Times, ArtNews, Artforum, Flash Art, Blind Spot, Harper's, and Discover. Her work has been featured on PBS, and This American Life. She lives and works in New York City.
