Manavjit Singh Sandhu is an Indian sport shooter who specializes in trap shooting. He is a Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee 2006 and Arjuna Awardee 1998.
Sandhu was educated at the Lawrence School, Sanawar.
He belongs to village RATTA KHERA district ferozepur, Punjab. He, his father, Gurbir Singh and uncles, Randhir Singh and Parambir Singh, .
He won the gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships;he won the bronze medal in the trap event at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, gold at 1998 Commonwealth Games, four silver medals at 1998 Asian Games, 2002 Asian Games, 2006 Asian Games, four gold medals at the Asian Clay Shooting Championships and the gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships He also competed at the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008. In the 2008 Olympics he stood tied 10th. In 2010, he won the Commonwealth Shooting Championship gold and the very next week bagged gold at the trap shooting World Cup in Mexico.
As of April 2, 2010, he is ranked #3 in the world. His highest ranking has been World #1 in 2006.
His career in shooting started early and his interest developed mainly due to his father Gurbir Singh Sandhu who was an international level shooter and Arjuna Awardee, and from his school the swank Lawrence School Sanawar, in Himachal.
