Kenneth S. Suslick is the Marvin T. Schmidt Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering, and Professor of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science & Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the world’s leading expert on the chemical and physical effects of ultrasound and has received numerous awards for his work on sonochemistry and sonoluminescence. Professor Suslick has also introduced new technology in chemical sensing, specifically the use of colorimetric sensor arrays as an optoelectronic nose.
