Personal: Susan Hahn is a poet, playwright and novelist. She was born Susan Firestone in Chicago, Illinois, and attended Highland Park High School and Northwestern University She was employed for many years by TriQuarterly literary magazine, the last 14 of which, until 2009, as the Editor. She is married to Frederic Hahn, an attorney, and is the mother of Rick Hahn, the general manager of the Chicago White Sox.
Works: Susan Hahn is the author of nine books of poetry, two plays and a novel. Dozens of her poems and short stories have appeared in literary magazines such as American Poetry Review, The American Scholar, The Atlantic Monthly, The Kenyon Review, New England Review, The North American Review and Poetry. She has given readings of her work at Dartmouth College, Harvard University, the University of North Carolina, the University of Chicago, the Poetry Foundation and many other venues.
