Daniel Zacapa is an American trilingual actor and community activist who dreamed of playing baseball for the San Francisco Giants. Zacapa played the role of Detective Taylor in the 1995 David Fincher film, Seven. He has worked steadily, amassing a number of television credits and a role in Up Close and Personal. Zacapa played Tio Ruben of the Santiago family in Showtime's Resurrection Blvd., Renda in George Clooney's directorial debut Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and a leading role in the independent film Coronado. Other feature-film credits include The Mexican with Brad Pitt, Odd Couple II with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, Up Close and Personal, Phenomenon, Seven, The Sandlot, and Werner Herzog's Aguirre: The Wrath of God. Television appearances have included Six Feet Under, Judging Amy, The Practice, NYPD Blue, Seinfeld, JAG and Star Trek: Voyager. Zacapa made a guest appearance in Criminal Minds as Captain Griffith, head of the San Diego Task Force, who calls in the Behavioral Analysis Unit to help arrest a serial rapist-murderer. He won the 1998 ALMA Award as Best Supporting Actor for his role in Foto Novelas, a PBS drama directed by Carlos Avila.
