Amy Beth Pascal is an American businesswoman. She is the co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. and Chairman of SPE's Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group. She oversees all development, production and marketing activities at Columbia Pictures. In 2001, she was awarded the Crystal Award by Women in Film for outstanding women who, through their endurance and the excellence of their work, have helped to expand the role of women within the entertainment industry. She was listed as number one on the 15th annual Women in Entertainment Power 100 list published in 2006 by the Hollywood Reporter. In 2009, Forbes ranked her 60th of the 100 most powerful women in the world.
On March 21, 2013, Pascal spoke at an LA Gay and Lesbian gala and called on the industry to rethink its depictions of gay and lesbian characters in the media. Pascal asked Hollywood to eliminate gay stereotypes and to create characters who aren't defined by their sexuality, and proposed that “next time, when any of us are reading a script and it says words like fag, or faggot – homo – dyke – take a pencil and just cross it out."
