Michelle Marie Pfeiffer is an American actress and singer. She made her film debut in 1980 in The Hollywood Knights, but first garnered mainstream attention with her breakout performance in Scarface. Pfeiffer has had her greatest commercial successes with Batman Returns, What Lies Beneath, and Hairspray. Her other films include Ladyhawke, Into the Night, The Witches of Eastwick, Married to the Mob, Tequila Sunrise, The Age of Innocence, Wolf, Dangerous Minds, I Am Sam. During her career, Pfeiffer has won numerous awards including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Drama, the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and Best Actress awards from the National Board of Review, the National Society of Film Critics, the New York Film Critics Circle, the Chicago Film Critics Association and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, as well as Best Supporting Actress awards from the Kansas City Film Critics Circle and the San Diego Film Critics Society. She has received three Academy Award nominations to date: Best Supporting Actress for Dangerous Liaisons, and Best Actress in The Fabulous Baker Boys and Love Field.
