Babu Thiruvalla as he is popularly known, entered into the Malayalam movie at an age of about 22 years with eminent legends like Bharatan and the debut film Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam starred by eminent actors like Nedumudi Venu Sarada and paved way to the acting of Parvathy, Devan and many more were accepted well by all kinds of audience and bagged many awards. Another prominent production was Amaram starring Mammootty Murali, Ashokan et al was another hit in the Malayalam cinema. Later he debuted as a director after many years through Thaniye meaning "Alone", depicting the maddening loneliness of aged parents in the modern living system, bagged many national and international awards. He has produced many movies with clear messages to the audience and next few projects include the care taking of a hindu aged woman by a muslim lady social worker with all respects to the culture and freedom titled Thanichalla Naam. Nedumudi Venu was always his passion and guide for his productions and direction.
