Susan Lloyd-Roberts CBE is a television journalist, who works as Special Correspondent for the BBC, travelling to, and reporting on, major news stories across the world, including important issues not covered widely elsewhere. She has presented many in-depth reports for the BBC's Newsnight programme and for current affairs programmes on BBC World News channel, the BBC's international satellite and cable news channel, as well as for the UK's domestic BBC News channel. Earlier in her career, she worked for Britain's ITN, the news provider for ITV, and reported extensively for the channel's News at Ten.
During a career lasting several decades, Lloyd-Roberts has produced reports from states such as North Korea and Syria, where she focuses on a range of important issues such as human rights violations, environmental degradation and political corruption. She was awarded the European Women of Achievement Award in 1995. Her reports from North Korea won an Emmy Award in 2011.
Already Member of the Order of the British Empire, she was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to journalism.
