Austin Burton Edwards was an Australian geologist, winner of the Clarke Medal in 1960.
Edwards was born in Caulfield, Victoria, Australia, and was educated at Caulfield Grammar School where he was dux. He then studied at the University of Melbourne where he graduated with first-class honours in geology and obtained degrees of B.Sc. in 1930 and D.Sc. in 1942.
Edwards published Textures of the Ore Minerals and their Significance in 1947. In 1953, Edwards became officer-in-charge of the mineragraphic section of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization. From 1941 to 1955 Edwards lectured part time in geology at the University of Melbourne, occasionally offering postgraduate lectures.
