He has directed the feature film Nankooram and around twenty documentaries including Nishadam, Victims of Silence, Punarakhyanam, Punarjjani and Kerala Paninini that have received local and international acclaim.He has directed a docufiction- Pakalmazha for the Social Welfare Board, Govt. of Kerala.Magic Wheel,his documentary was made as a part of workshop conducted in Indian School, Bahrain.
He is the recipient of President's Gold Medal & National Film Award, State Film Awards,Film Critics Awards, State Television Award, AFFMA International Documentary Film Award-2012 and Greens-2012 Award for Environmental films. He has also been awarded a Senior Fellowship for Outstanding Artists, from the Indian Government’s Department of Culture, to research on Indian Literature and Cinema and a Fellowship from National Film Archive of India to research on Malayalam Literature and Cinema.
