Rear Admiral Charles Davis Lucas, V.C., was a British-Irish recipient of the Victoria Cross. An officer of the Royal Navy, he was the first person to be nominated for a Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He rose to the rank of rear-admiral during his time in the navy.
