Regina Kulik Scully

Regina Kulik Scully is the Founder and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to developing and promoting media, education and healing projects that transform our culture. Ms Kulik Scully also is the Founder and CEO of RPR Marketing Communications, a premier Public Relations Agency, NYC, specializing in exclusive consumer products and brands. Ms Kulik Scully is a social entrepreneur, education activist, and documentary Filmmaker. She is one of the leading communications and media consultants in the county, speaking at schools, conferences, and companies around the world. A 30-year veteran in the fields of Journalism, Public Relations, Brand Marketing and Filmmaking, Ms Scully has a successful track record of building and producing successful premier brands, projects, and films, that integrate cause-related issues, social media, and outreach campaigns. Ms Kulik Scully is an Academy award nominated executive producer, most recently for the 2013 powerful documentary called the “Invisible War” - a film about the epidemic rapes of women and men in the military. The “Invisible War” won the 2012 Sundance Audience Award, and will be distributed by PBS May 2013. Ms Scully also executive produced “MissRepresentation”, a compelling documentary exposing the gender bias that still exists in our country based on the limited portrayals of women and young girls in our Media, Politics and Entertainment. Ms Kulik Scully is a co-founder of www.MissRepresentation.org. Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network bought “MissRepresentation” in the Fall 2011. Ms Kulik Scully helped spearhead the development and distribution of its critically acclaimed corresponding national curriculum. In addition, Ms Kulik Scully has exec-produced a spate of benchmark, issue-focused documentaries, such as: “Anita: Truth to Power”, a film about the importance of the 20 year anniversary of the Anita Hill hearings; “Alice: Beauty in Truth”, a poignant film about the life of author/activist Alice Walker; “Boyhood Shadows”, a compelling film about the devastating effects, and triumphant stories of male adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse (BoyhoodShadowsProject.org). “Boyhood Shadows” was distributed by Oprah producers to her studio audience members during her groundbreaking shows in October 2010 featuring successful Film Maker and Director Tyler Perry, along with 200 fellow male survivors; “Half the Sky”, the heart-wrenching and compassionate series, which aired on PBS in the Fall of 2012, based on best-selling novel, uncovering the untenable violence against women across six countries; and “Essence Road”, Playwright/activist Eve Ensler’s upcoming riveting documentary about the violence toward women in the Congo. In addition to filmmaking, Ms Kulik Scully is deeply passionate about Education reform, and has helped launch some of the most successful inner city charter schools in the country: the Success Academy Schools, in NY (www.successacademies.org); and the Making Waves Academy Schools in Northern California (www.makingwaves.org) Ms. Kulik Scully is the Founding Sponsor of the following initiatives: Athena Film Festival, affiliated with Barnard College, NYC - the first women’s film festival focused on supporting women Film Makers CBS radio show ‘Live with Robin Morgan’, produced by the Women’s Media Center, NYC Artemis Rising Invisible War Recovery Program, CA – developed for Vets suffering from MST and PTSD.
